My personal favorite chill album is Danny Howells' Global Underground 24:7 set. He too is not in general a downtempo artist, but this set is very mellow.

Go listen to Liszt’s Csardas Macabre or Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge and tell me classical music is “soothing”.
