Hello all!
So I'm a brand new teacher who just got a contract signed. I'm preparing to travel to Taiwan to teach English at a couple of elementary schools. Though I passed my TEFL course and my lesson plans tend to be strong according to my instructor, I've been having trouble with finding ways to give clear and concise instructions for activities in the target language. I know a lot of the basic stuff like being clear and concise, and using gestures and items to convey meanings, but whenever my TEFL instructor views the practice lessons I plan and provides corrections and other options for activities, I always have trouble envisioning how I would provide instruction for some of the activities. Does anyone have any advice or specific examples of times when they managed to convey instructions for activities really effectively? I really want to be good at this, and I really want to be able to have fun and engaging lessons.
