Status of TESOL Canada

Unread post by aruna2017 »

Hi. Could you tell me if TESOL Canada is quality approved by the Canadian government? If not, what is its status?

I'm planning to take a TEFL certification from the Asian College of Teachers, which claims to have its course accredited by TESOL Canada. I just want to make sure of things before I paid for it.

If you cannot provide this information, could you point me to a website or forum where I can get the needed info?

Thanks a lot,
Aruna

Hi, TESOL Canada is not the official accrediting body in Canada and their certificate is not valid in Canada. They are a private organization and nobody knows who the owner is.

The official accrediting body is TESL Canada and their website is http://tesl.ca
Ontesol - Online TESOL/TEFL courses. http://www.ontesol.com

You are looking for something that does not exist. In general, governments are not in the business of accrediting TEFL courses.
