Re: Teaching phonemics
Very few teachers do what you outline, but that's because very few teachers know anything about the phonemic sounds. Telling ss to use the Cambridge/Oxford/Webster dictionary is a cop-out used by most teachers. If you are confident to teach the sounds, I recommend that you go for it: https://www.eng...

Another cautionary tale, this time from Russia trying to get a teacher to come on a Business visa and without work permit:

People argue endlessly about this but for me an ocean of flowers is singular and two oceans of flowers is plural.

Re: Using TEFL and an IT diploma
A TEFL diploma (or indeed a TEFL certificate) is often enough for many employers from their point of view. However, it is true that a bachelor's (in almost any subject) is often required by the respective government before a visa/work permit can be issued. This is not (yet) universal and at least in...

Re: Is there a way to quit graciously with short notice?
There should be no need to give a reason, though out of courtesy many people do (even though the reason given may not be the real one).
Normally a period of minimum notice would be included in your contract. Is that not the case with yours?

So I guess the first thing to do would be to stop writing for them. Did you think of that?

2-3 articles a day for a year. What's that, about 600 articles and no payment? Sounds almost incredible

Re: Can’t seem to find a job. Any reliable recommendations?
It would probably help people make meaningful replies if you gave a bit more info. Eg, what does "local" and "foreign" mean? It depends where you are. What country/ies do you want to work in? etc Have you checked the TEFL.net job boards? https://www.tefl.net/jobs/international ht...

Re: Fraud or what??
Any time money is required, you have a red flag right there. This can be at any point during the hiring procedure, say in the original job ad or during a subsequent telephone conversation. Money may be requested for various reasons - to pay for a background check on you, to cover work permit applica...

Re: CV tailored for each vacancy?
Really it's up to you. As long as your CV/resume doesn't become "fake" in the process it makes sense to tailor it to the position within reason. That would be putting your best foot forward for the job in question. If you're making 100 applications then that might be impracticable, or cert...

Do you think the voice in the video might be difficult to understand for non-native speakers? Personally I think it might be difficult to understand for NATIVE speakers, and I'm a native speaker. It's weird  I presume it's a synthetic voice? The sentence stress is all over the place. It's ...

You are looking for something that does not exist. In general, governments are not in the business of accrediting TEFL courses.
