have the same problem. I teach third graders and they get very bored with just saying the letters and the words. It's really hard keeping them focused during the lesson. I'm actually thinking about asking the pupils if they ideas how to make if more fun, maybe they'll have good ideas. you should try...

How to make grammar fun.. that's a tough one..
use games that they can play together. give them an assignment to create a game related to subject, maybe they'll have great ideas that they can share with the rest of the class.
