Interview at a language school

Unread post by Rayman »

Hello all,

I've not had any experience of language schools previously, and have been invited for an interview for a CELTA course very soon.

I've been given a pre-interview task to complete, asking some grammatical questions and other bits and pieces about how I would handle the teaching itself. I've tackled this fairly intuitively, but I was wondering if other people could offer advice about what sort of questions they're likely to ask.

I was also wondering what to wear! I'm a jeans person really - in fact, I've been to interviews in past wearing jeans, and been offered the job. I need to be myself, but if people think a smarter approach would be better, please let me know!

Thanks all.

If you're going to an interview to become a student I think smart jeans are fine. It's different for a job interview. I'm talking about Europe here.

Sounds like you were right for the questions. They may also ask about your experience learning a foreign language and what you thought of the teacher's style.
