50 years old and thinking of a career change

Unread post by tomgreg15 »

I’m 50 years old and thinking of a career change as I expect to be laid off soon.
Will my age be a significant handicap with employers? I’m considering getting a masters degree
in TEFL at a local university in Denver, Colorado, where I live. I’d then be about 53 or so when I went abroad….

Am I crazy?

I don’t need a lot to get by. I’d just like to make enough to live modestly, humbly…

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Hi, Tomgreg

At first, I would like to say that thinking of changing you career at the age of 50 is not stupid or a crazy step, but yes, at this age, the step should be taken with full fleged planning.

I perosnally feel that teaching profession is quite feasible then any other profession, above all your inetrest and taste matters.
